Security System - is a portable sculptural performance work that investigates fear and the illusion of safety. Choreographer/video artist Marianne M. Kim and installation/performance artist Joseph Ravens, collaborate to manifest visual and visceral images of residue, ritual, and evidence.

The performers play the role of inventor, victim, witness, and perpetrator. Their actions blur the line between task-oriented functionality and invented ritual. The movement imagery is heavily influenced by the art practice of Japanese Butoh. Images of transformation, mutation, decay, and death are all a part of the language of Butoh and serve to reinforce our concepts of fear and imagined safety.
