The Perfect Human (2011)

Choreography: Marianne M. Kim, Will Bond
Sound: excerpts from Jorgen Leth’s film “The Perfect Human”

In this choreographic response to Jorgen Leth’s film The Perfect Human, two dancers demonstrate the life events of the “perfect human” performing the daily rituals of an examined life as if under the anthropological scrutiny of an artist/scientist.  One might think of a 1960/70s zoological documentary of apes in captivity, or a biology class film of cell division as seen under a microscope.  We take this antiseptic, clinical, logical, anthropological filmic depiction and continue into the rather unpredictable, chaotic, dirty, and distasteful reality of life as lived in the imperfect flesh.
